About Us

Are you are looking for handmade, ethical, or sustainable chocolate? For companies that care from seed to bean? For chocolatiers and makers who are passionate about their produce?

Discover Cacao promotes award-winning artisan chocolate brands, so you can make better choices about the chocolate you buy.

In 2014 Discover Cacao were invited to attend ‘Chocolate Unwrapped’ at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden. We spent the day in a chocolate heaven of non-stop indulgence, and learned there is more to chocolate than just the taste.

Discover Cacao is on a mission to bring quality chocolate to a wider audience by offering a platform for chocolatiers and chocolate makers to showcase their products, and share their story so that you can indulge your passion for all things chocolate.

We created Discover Cacao to support the chocolatiers and chocolate makers we had met – and we invited them to join us in a small community hall in Oxted, Surrey for our first Oxted Chocolate Fair. On 22nd December 2014 we filled that hall with chocolate, and people came.

Through our events across the South-East we offer free education in all things cacao via our exhibitors. By setting a stage we give chocolate experts, chocolatiers, chocolate makers, and professional speakers, a platform to tell their story, to promote their products, and more importantly, to share their knowledge and explain why they are supporting a movement to source and support the workers on the ground in the cocoa plantations.

Since then, we have returned to Oxted for six consecutive years, to bring the Oxted Chocolate Festival to visitors in time for Easter. We now include the Denbies Chocolate Fair at Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking, Surrey to our list of events. Other events have seen the addition of the Brighton Chocolate Festival for 2018/9, with plans to source new venues across the South East.

We also offer bespoke events including ‘An Introduction to Award Winning Chocolate’, and ‘An Introduction to Vegan Chocolate’ – first showcased at The Carpenters Arms, Limpsfield, Surrey.

Easy education is included with every event because ‘Better Beans mean Better Chocolate’.
