In 2014, when Discover Cacao started organising chocolate-themed events, one of the first companies we met was Fifth Dimension Chocolates. This London-based company was founded in 2013 by Russell Pullan and Albert Chau… and the first chocolate that I tried was a curry-flavoured filled chocolate.

I have to admit, it was the first time I had ever tried curry in chocolate and, at the time, I would probably say I would not try it again. However, fast forward five years and the award-winning Siem Reap (Cambodian Curry) has become one of my all-time favourites. Curry really does work in chocolate, along with chilli, soy, and stout! Fifth Dimension Chocolates are now one of my favourite chocolatiers, producing an assortment of flavours created from their world travels. They are always creating something new, and the quality of the final creations is well suited to my taste.

Siem Reap – The gateway for temple-bound travellers to the heart and soul of Cambodia, the magnificent Angkor Wat. We’re confident our chocolate is also a gateway – to the tastes of the country’s sweet Khmer curries. A citrus burst of lemongrass, galangal and kaffir lime, tempered with coconut and a hot bite of chilli, wrapped in white chocolate. Let your tastebuds worship!

What I like most about Fifth Dimension Chocolates is the ‘snap’. I love the way their chocolate breaks when I bite into any of their flavoured truffles. The snap achieved on their Pâte de Fruits Chocwich is second to none. Pair the raspberry chocwich with a glass of ‘bubbles’ and it is a perfect amuse-bouche to serve for arriving guests. Forget savoury canapés until after the champers and chocolate!

Albert and Russell have been strong supporters of Discover Cacao events, and have joined us in Surrey and Brighton over the last six years, for the Brighton Chocolate Festival, the Oxted Chocolate Fair, and most recently at Denbies Wine Estate in Dorking on the 8th Match 2020. Sadly, with the way current events are standing, we may not see a return to chocolate fairs until 2021. In the meantime, you can order chocolates directly from the Heston Blumenthal of chocolate, and travel the world from your living room with a Fifth Dimension Journey Box.
